Read Aloud 15 MINUTES and American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) have collaborated on Communicating With Baby: Tips and Milestones From Birth to Age 5. The seven new age-appropriate parent handouts developed over the past several months in collaboration with ASHA are designed to help parents identify the signs of age-appropriate speech, hearing and language development, and to provide tips and encouragement to parents for interacting with their child through reading, talking and interactive play.
Clicking on the link above leads to a dropbox with English and Spanish versions of the handouts. Please explore how you can best make them available to Wisconsin Valley Library Service area parents. Empower parents to be their child’s first and most important teacher with the simple, straightforward, and age-appropriate information in the new handouts!
More information about Read Aloud 15 MINUTES 21-Day Challenge in October will be available soon. Libraries are encouraged to reach out to community day care providers, preschools and K-2 partners to develop and encourage parent engagement.
