Wisconsin Valley Library Service (WVLS) is seeking a full-time ILS Administrator to join our team in Wausau, Wisconsin. This key leadership role reports directly to the WVLS Director and plays a vital part in supporting library services across our 7-county region.
Position Overview
The WVLS ILS Administrator is responsible for:
- Managing the efficient operation of the WVLS Integrated Library System (ILS), including performance monitoring, administration, maintenance, upgrades, and reporting.
- Delivering professional, courteous ILS administrative support, training, and services to 34 remote public libraries and branches.
- Communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders in both individual and group settings.
- Providing strategic and operational leadership for V-Cat consortium services.

Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS) from an ALA-accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Minimum of three years of progressive experience supporting, managing, or troubleshooting ILS applications.
- Minimum of two years of experience with library cataloging and metadata practices.
Preferred:
- Experience with the Sierra ILS (Innovative Interfaces, Inc.).
- Experience with Aspen Discovery.
- Proficiency with Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Background working in a public library system or library consortium.
Additional Requirements:
- Proven leadership in program administration, strategic planning, budgeting, data analysis, and using data to drive service improvements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with staff, trustees, member libraries, and statewide colleagues.
- Willingness and ability to travel within the WVLS service area and attend state and national trainings and conferences.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $65,500 – $77,500 (negotiable based on qualifications and experience)
