Registration is now open for Wisconsin Trustee Training Week on August 19-23.
Sponsored by all 15 public library systems, the annual Trustee Training Week offers a one-hour webinar each day of the week on a topic of interest to public library trustees and administrators.
All webinars begin at 12 p.m. The line-up of presentations offered this year includes:

  • Monday, August 19: Everything You Want to Know About Book Challenges…and a Bit You Probably Don’t
  • Tuesday, August 20: Wisconsin Library Law
  • Wednesday, August 21: Making Each Other Look Good: The Library Board and the Library Director
  • Thursday, August 22: Organization and Governance Best Practices for Boards
  • Friday, August 23: Robert’s Rules Refresher

“This year’s Trustee Training Week is a combination of current issues facing library boards along with refreshers on organizational basics,”  said Wisconsin Trustee Training Week Coordinator Jean Anderson.

“There will be presentations on book challenges, communication between the Board and Director, and on governance best practices. In addition, we have repeat presenter Kris Turner talking about Wisconsin Library Law and a refresher on Robert’s Rules. There’s something for everyone,” she said.

The webinars will be recorded and archived for later viewing.

Trustee Training Week is supported by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI), Public Library Development Team, with funding support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
