Jamie's Meeting June 30, 2020 (1:16 PM) Peggy O'Connell: do they spark joy? (1:16 PM) Rhinelander Library: build a window with them. Find a shot glass museum? (1:17 PM) Brandon: Give me "The Wizard of ID" anyday, my favorite comic strip (1:19 PM) Rhinelander Library: Both (1:19 PM) Heidi Tomahawk: If I missed. (1:19 PM) Anne Kuipers: If I miss a meeting. (1:26 PM) Brandon: Only curbside for now, though we will be open to patrons on July 11th and a lot of people sound excited about it. Where I see us in a month is engaging in an Escape room I designed for kids returning to the library. (1:27 PM) Brandon: gloves, sanitizers, 30 min limits per patrons (1:27 PM) Brandon: no problem (1:29 PM) Gilman Staff: Going good being open only 3 of the 5 usual days. Not sure everyone knows we are open even with the big new sign outside during our open hours. Everyone is Very happy that we are open even if not normal times. (1:31 PM) Gilman Staff: Hand sanatizer is at the door and I politely ask them to use it if they if have bypassed it. Mask and gloves are offered if they want them. Started online Summer Reading today. (1:32 PM) Demmer Library: Three Lakes: Limited hours will continue at least through Labor Day for consistency of messaging, unless we need to close for sad reasons. (1:32 PM) Gilman Staff: My board told me to keep the hours as they are for now. (1:34 PM) Anne Kuipers: We had limited hours during the appointment phase. It was lovely to be able to focus on admin. When we opened for walk-ins we are normal hours. My board insisted on regular hours again, I would have eased into it (1:34 PM) Peggy O'Connell: Opening at 10 is nice instead of 9, gives us a chance to sanitize in the morning. Also we are not utilizing volunteers so the extra time we use for shelving etc. We have no plans to up our hours in the near future. (1:34 PM) Demmer Library: I'm with you Heidi. Staff asked for scripts/talking points and they're working well. And positive and calm attitudes make such a difference! (1:35 PM) Maria Pregler: It is helpful, I think. We are open Mon-Thur and Friday is public free. I find that lately, having that extra day to get projects done (and not have to clean), is very helpful. I think the board is planning to keep the hours the same, at least until this calms down. (1:36 PM) Loralee: Is everyone still quaranting materials? (1:37 PM) Anne Kuipers: Yes, the OCLC study cemented our quarantine. Although we are no longer sanitizing books. (1:43 PM) Peggy O'Connell: Sorry I had to pop out and help a patron, I am back. (1:45 PM) Maria Pregler: Things are working well. I don't think a lot of people realize that we're open. Patrons are very understanding for the most part, but you're always going to have those who have to voice their opinions about the changes. We have a lot of questions about our quarantine process, but after we explain the situation, most people are understanding. Discussion with the board is to keep the hours the same until further notice. (1:51 PM) Heidi Tomahawk: Radio/news is helping us get the word out (1:54 PM) Gilman Staff: We are having a volunteer come in on Fridays to shelf books to free up my staff so we can keep up with checkins, checkouts, cataloging donated items and daily tasks. That gives me as the director time to keep up with the director job and assisting patrons as needed. (1:54 PM) Rhinelander Library: Love the idea of the Big Board of info (1:54 PM) Rhinelander Library: RDL is repeats is signage everywhere--but will also be changing out signage so people see it. (1:55 PM) Maria Pregler: We don't have a ton, but yes, some people prefer it. (1:55 PM) Anne Kuipers: Same as maria. (1:55 PM) Demmer Library: People seem fine with the vestibule pickup which we are continuing for all requested hold items (1:55 PM) Peggy O'Connell: Yes staff all wear masks (1:55 PM) Rhinelander Library: All staff is wearing masks (1:56 PM) Demmer Library: All staff wear masks (1:56 PM) Demmer Library: There is a break room (1:56 PM) Maria Pregler: Yes. Masks are required for employees who are working with the public. (1:56 PM) Anne Kuipers: All staff have masks, break available in back. (1:56 PM) Rhinelander Library: As long as they are physically distanced and at their desks (1:56 PM) Demmer Library: They can take it off if they're alone in their office (1:56 PM) Peggy O'Connell: They pretty much wear them all the time (1:57 PM) Demmer Library: It can be hot/itchy, but you get used to it. (1:57 PM) Heidi Tomahawk: yes all staff. Yes they can take it off in office/ distance (1:57 PM) Maria Pregler: I call it my "face sauna." (1:57 PM) Rhinelander Library: but they need to leave their pants on. Which after three months at home, dresspants are equally unconfortable. (1:57 PM) Demmer Library: LOLOL (1:57 PM) Demmer Library: Sometimes I start feeling uncomfortable having a "naked face." (1:57 PM) Rhinelander Library: Yup (1:58 PM) Jenny J: when in back room each staff has own hooks to hang, that is only place masks go when not wearing (1:59 PM) Loralee: Happy Independence Day everyone!
