Jamie's Meeting June 16, 2020 (12:53 PM) Jamie Matczak: Hi everyone! (12:54 PM) Brandon: hello (12:54 PM) Jamie Matczak: Now playing: When the Morning Comes, by Darryl Hall and Kevin Bacon (12:57 PM) Jamie Matczak: Now playing: Peg, by Steely Dan (1:01 PM) Virginia: Its ok. Seems like a timewarp every day (1:02 PM) Demmer Library: Erica is here, just going to be a minute late (1:10 PM) Brandon: Night, I love falling asleep with a good book in hand (1:11 PM) Anne Kuipers: just before dusk, when the sky is painted and I'm able to take a walk while the birds sing. (1:15 PM) Vicky: Night--I don't like sunshine, so I love to ride bike about 9 p.m. at night--then finish the night reading. (1:17 PM) Loralee: Don't like sunshine. Hmmm....How do you feel about garlic, Vicky? Lol. (1:17 PM) Anne: 8am with warm coffee (1:17 PM) Anne: knocking off easy tasks (1:17 PM) Anne: MARLA WE ARE TWINS (1:18 PM) Sherry Machones: I think I prefer about midnight (1:21 PM) Anne: Pete's Municipal funding segment starts at 42 minutes 27 seconds (1:22 PM) Anne: https://youtu.be/a9CyEWWwP20?t=2547 (1:24 PM) Anne Kuipers: I'll share in Chat (1:25 PM) Brandon: I really haven't thought about it yet (1:28 PM) Brandon: Feels like I've been winging it these last couple of months (1:29 PM) Brandon: thanks (1:29 PM) Anne Kuipers: I also haven't thought about it much, but our municipality hasn't changed our funding since the mid 2000's. And I only did my first budget this winter. (1:29 PM) Loralee: Brandon, we have all been winging it!!! (1:34 PM) Brandon: no kidding! (1:42 PM) Vicky: Working on reopening--didn't think about budget yet. We are always underfunded compared to other city departments. (1:47 PM) Virginia: My staff has work logs, and we have been making regular reports to the board of all the things being done for the public now and in the future. (1:51 PM) Loyal Library: After listening to the webinar, I made sure to ask my city whether they were aware of the Road to Recovery Grant. They had heard about it but hadn't checked into it further so I forwarded the information to them. I wanted to make sure they knew that I knew about this money. (1:51 PM) Marla: Nice! (1:52 PM) Anne: use your websites and social media to share your library stories and boast about your services now and when doors were closed. (1:53 PM) Anne: increases in wifi uses? email reference requests? (1:53 PM) Anne: virtual programs (1:58 PM) Anne Kuipers: Not related to the main topic, but since everyone is here does anyone have advice on how to deal with the packed open pool across the street. It scares me, especially since about 1/2 of my patrons agree with caution. (1:58 PM) Virginia: Once we open, we will be limiting children inside the building at RDL--no kids without -parents, and perhaps no kids at all. (1:58 PM) Loyal Library: keep your bathroom closed (out of order signs) (1:59 PM) Sherry Machones: I have to go to the same meeting Anne is in. Take care! (1:59 PM) Anne Kuipers: Volume of people, since people typically go from pool to library and I have already turned away kids. (1:59 PM) Virginia: Thats a good sign to have. (2:00 PM) Anne Kuipers: The cars just went down the street and it freaked me out a bit today. (2:00 PM) Virginia: Thank you. First RDL Friends meeting today in two months. They are meeting in masks and outside. Cheers! (2:01 PM) Demmer Library: I agree, we're doing no children under 10 without adult; older need to be able follow our time limit rule, no toys, etc. are out. (2:01 PM) Marla: Thank you for attending and sharing, all!
