The Waukesha Public Library is recruiting for the Public Services Manager position. Waukesha Public Library is located at the heart of a thriving city of over 70,000 people and serves as a community hub for education and enrichment. The Library recently completed an extensive first floor renovation project which includes a new Makerspace area, a combined service desk, and many new meeting and program spaces.
The ideal candidate for the Public Services Manager position will possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills, are self-motivated, and are dedicated professionals with a welcoming personality who understand the transformative value that a library brings to its community. The Public Services Manager is responsible for developing an environment that cultivates and ensures consistent, courteous, and responsive service to all internal and external contacts; coordinates the daily operations of the Public Services department including circulation and all public desk staff, maintains building security, and oversees the operations of library customer service initiatives. This individual plays a key role by contributing to the planning, evaluation, development and implementation of public services objectives and policies in the library and establishes standards of excellence and procedures by prioritizing the needs of the community and library patrons.
