Book lovers and others are invited to the first-ever Central Wisconsin Book Festival starting the evening of Sept. 29 and continuing through the evening of Sept. 30!

The Marathon County Public Library is working with several community partners, including UW-Marathon County’s Lecture and Fine Arts SeriesJanke Book Store and Barnes and Noble, to bring a variety of authors and others to the Wausau area for readings, presentations and workshops!

The number of guests and events may be relatively small compared to other, more established book festivals in Wisconsin (this is our first attempt, after all), but our diverse lineup includes award-winning poet Mai Der Vang, who will close out the festival Saturday night, former Wisconsin Gov. Martin Schreiber discussing his book about Alzheimer’s care, “My Two Elaines,” comic book writer and artist (and Marathon County native) Tim Seeley and more! We’ll kick off the festival with a live storytelling event Friday night!

Events will be spread around the area between MCPL Wausau, Janke and Barnes and Noble. See the full list of events and their locations.
