On April 24, 2020 the Wisconsin Department of Instruction finalized a three-year, statewide contract for Beanstack, an online reading challenge platform and mobile app, with the assistance of Wisconsin Valley Library Service as fiscal agent. This statewide contract is supported by LSTA funds as this project aligns with PLSR goals related to equity, shared services, and collaboration. View the full news release.
All Wisconsin public libraries are invited to use this product at no cost through 2023 to offer Summer Library Programs and reading challenges such as 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, winter reading, or any locally developed reading challenge.
Each member library designates a Beanstack point-person to dig into building and managing their library’s challenges using the Beanstack platform.
Libraries are encouraged to attend weekly WVLS Beanstack Office Hours and to use the Beanstack Help Center.
WVLS Beanstack Office Hours are scheduled weekly at variable times dues to an increase in virtual meetings. Please check on the WVLS calendar for the upcoming office hours.
The next WVLS Beanstack Office Hours are scheduled for Thursday, May 21 at 1 p.m. The link to attend is included below.
