DescriptionDescriptionThe Mount Horeb Area School District, located just 15 minutes west of Madison, Wisconsin, is seeking a proven, dynamic, and innovative leader to serve full-time as the District Technology Coordinator of the Mount Horeb Area School District. Our District’s mission in partnership with the community is dedicated to nurturing, educating and challenging our students; preparing and empowering them to be productive, responsible and self-fulfilled members of society. Nationally recognized for excellence in education, the Mount Horeb Area School District is dedicated to high levels of achievement and skills through academically enhanced curriculum and priorities for the arts for our 2525+ students and families served.
JOB GOALS:To provide leadership in the development, implementation, articulation, evaluation, and communication of the District’s technology program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Work closely with District administrators and stakeholders to develop a shared vision for meaningful and effective use of technology and the steps needed to meet the Board’s Strategic Plan.2. Develop and maintain a technology budget.3. Develop, monitor, evaluate, and report on the District’s technology plan.4. Maintain a working inventory of computer-related equipment and supplies.5. Plan and oversee all tasks related to technical systems, network infrastructure, and technology device management.6. Chair the District Technology Committee and attend/support the building technology and Library Media Specialist committees.7. Supervise and evaluate technology team.8. Apply, coordinate and, manage the district’s E-Rate program.9. Supervise the implementation and maintenance of various systems and applications.10. Work as the district liaison for all telecommunication issues.11. Oversee the necessary online security for compliance with the Child Internet Protection Act (CIPA) and lead the management of the District’s technology acceptable use policy.12. Perform other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (PREFERRED):13. Lead infusion of innovative technologies into the education process of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.14. Develop and implement professional learning opportunities for staff.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:• Four (4) year degree from an accredited college.• Successful experience in a public school setting.• Ability to collaborate, lead and problem solve.• Commitment to high professional standards and ethics.• Thorough knowledge of network security management, access and authentication, data integrity, business recovery, operating environments requirements and physical security, computer hardware, software, and computer use in educational programs.• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with others in person, by phone and in written communications. Good communication and leadership skills.• Ability to develop and manage budgets.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:• Master’s Degree or training in Computer Science or related field.• Advanced Degree with an emphasis on the integration of educational technology.• Teacher license from Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. • Extensive knowledge of wireless, VoIP and streaming data communications.• Relevant IT certifications and education, CETL, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Active Directory, HP Switches and Google Administrator certifications preferred.
