Maker spaces and STEAM programming are hitting libraries by storm and provide many learning benefits according to the August 25, 2016 School Library Journal Article “Seven Surprising Benefits of Maker Spaces.” Over one-hundred (100!!!!!) maker space kits are available to all library types and systems. All types are welcome to borrow kits as long as the kits can be picked up at a courier stop or from WVLS headquarters in Wausau or IFLS in Eau Claire.

Maker Kit Fair Workshops

Register here for one of four Maker Kit Fairs near you to learn more about all the maker space kits offered and get hands-on experience with the kits!

Some maker kits will come with an ideas sheet with programming ideas and kit instructions.

Reserving Kits

Start reserving kits by sending an email to help@librarieswin.org. Once a library has been registered, libraries can log on to the Lend Items website to browse all the makerspace kits and start reserving kits.

Each maker space kit entry on Lend Items contains information for each kit such as: kit contents, padlock combinations and passwords for locked kits.
