Library Director: Due to the pending retirement of the current director, The Brillion Public Library is seeking a well-organized, dynamic, creative individual with a strong dedication to customer service to serve as Full-time Library Director. Brillion is a growing community with a population of 3250, located between Lake Michigan and Lake Winnebago in Calumet County, Wisconsin. The library has a collection of over 30,000 items in an 11,537square foot building that has a service population of 9700. The City of Brillion is a great place to live, work, learn and play.
Responsibilities: The Library Director reports to a 9-member Board of Trustees and is responsible for the overall management of the library and development and implementation of its service programs. Essential duties will include organizing the acquisitions, access, storage, and control of collections, designing and implementing service and programs for users of all ages, overseeing the maintenance and safety of the library building and grounds, assisting the board with long-range planning and policy development, and managing all library resources, including human resources, promoting the library within the community and working with all departments as a department head within the City of Brillion.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree from a liberal arts program and be
eligible for Grade 2 Wisconsin Public Library Certification; Three years of progressively
responsible library experience, or five years of experience in a service institution with
comparable demands and responsibilities; i.e. staff supervision, working directly with the
public, working with governing boards or bodies.
