Appointment Type:  Full TimeDescription The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Assistant Technical Services Manager beginning in November, 2017.

ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVES:To plan, organize, and coordinate the use of district technology systems to increase staff efficiencies and effectiveness and support student learning.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Coordinate with the Assistant Technology Services Manager – Innovation to deliver end-user services.2. Plan, organize, manage and direct the technical support system activities within the district in cooperation with appropriate departments and schools as necessary.  3. Manage installation and projects related to technology hardware and software. 4. Monitor and evaluate the district’s use of technical support systems and recommend alterations as necessary. 5. Manage/maintain district inventory of end-user computer hardware and related peripherals; recycling when appropriate; disposal in appropriate manner. 6. Configure, manage and maintain Skyward TruTime Badge systems and School Nutrition Service POS systems.7. Implement new systems and modifications to current systems in an optimal manner without adverse effects on current systems.8. Coordinate activities of technology support technicians working as a functioning team to accomplish stated goals and objectives.9. Use quality control processes ensuring technical support is delivered consistently and within standards. 10. Partner and work in collaboration with Network Systems Manager and Network Assistant Systems Managers ensuring LAN, WAN, and Internet services are available for district end-users.11. Manage/oversee digital media installations and purchases (video projectors, sound systems, media projectors, video distribution systems) ensuring compatibility with existing end-user and server based equipment. 12. Use excellent communications, problem solving, trouble shooting, and critical thinking skills.13. Ability to work independently and in teams of various sizes in identifying problems, identifying possible solutions, and implementing those solutions.14. Support appropriate communication and training as is available for district staff to effectively utilize systems.15. Maintain a cooperative relationship and open communications within the department, among staff and administration.16. Stay current and conduct research and development to determine best digital media hardware, software, peripherals, other equipment to advise district employees to use. 17. Participate in the district technology planning processes.18. Participate in various means of staying current with technologies serving staff and students.19. Participate in statewide committees, professional organizations, and other groups as appropriate.20. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:A. Post-secondary degree in computer, networking, end-user device related field or equivalent and three years’ experience working in computer and/or network support preferred.B. Certifications or work experience appropriate to district systems.C. Work experience in an educational setting preferred.D. Experience coordinating projects with a team of technical support staff or equivalent.E. Database administration and usage experience.F. Strong project coordination skills.G. Experience in managing support processes and services or equivalent.H. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly as a leader and team member.I. Ability to coordinate processes effectively.J. Ability to coordinate complex projects working in a team and as a leader for multiple projects.K. Excellent trouble-shooting analysis and problem-solving skills.L. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.M. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.N. Excellent customer service skills.
